Ripple control is a control system that enables electricity consumption to be more evenly distributed in the grid (and thus lowers costs). This effect is achieved by switching and turning off electrical devices. The system is primarily designed for switching of tariffs of electricity metering (high and low tariff).
For the transfer of the control signal, it uses the electric grid line and transmitters the range of which is tens (LV) to hundreds (HV) of kilometres. The number of receivers per transmitter is unlimited.
The versatility of the ripple control Smart Energy products allows for the system to be used in a variety of ways. Generally, the system can be used for group control of devices in accordance with the agreed tariff rate (street lighting, engaging and disengaging of devices, remote lighting of traffic signs, time synchronisation of clocks in tariff equipment, lighting of historical buildings and monuments, Christmas or advertising lighting, lighting of shop windows, etc.). Other areas of use include complexes of electrical distribution plants.
ZPA Smart Energy can also develop custom systems according to specific customer requirements. The customer may then use the system for turning on heating, air-conditioning control, water heating, turning on home appliances, etc. In the industry, these systems are also used in thermal processes (drying, heating, warming, etc.), cooling processes or when dewatering or irrigating agricultural land and communal services. Ripple control products by ZPA Smart Energy can also be used to send alarms, such as silent alarm, control of anti-aircraft sirens and public warning, fire reports, radiation reports, emergency reports or special use in nuclear power plants.
